Identification of Diabetes and International Organizations:

Identification of Diabetes and International Organizations
Identification of Diabetes and International Organizations

Diabetes develops when Pancreas is either not producing enough insulin or not producing at all. Often cells don’t respond to insulin and it also causes diabetes. It is considered a very primitive disease; it was said to be associated with Egyptians in 3000-1500 years BC Barnett and (Krall, 2005).

Diabetes kills slowly which attacks the health of its patients. It is a very disease that affects the economies of countries by reducing the workforce and rendering people tired and exhausted. It is also considered a risk factor for vascular diseases in the future (Oliveira 5 et al., 2009). The primary is then sub classify according to the amount of insulin secretion; time of inception of disease in a patient; remedial possibility; the natural history of the disease; and glucose intolerance. Diabetes is also increasing among adults: there were roughly 285 million in 2010 and predictions are that there will be 439 million by 2030 (Shaw et al., 2010). World Health Organization in its report in 2005 reported that roughly 2 percent of all death in the world is diabetes—related and if measures are not taken by third-world countries then the percentage of diabetes-related deaths could increase. Among many causes that are cited as risk factors for diabetes are modern lifestyles that reduce physical exertion and thus result in obesity (Kengne et al., 2013).

Worldwide 376 Billion Dollars were spent on diabetes care in 2010 and the expenses are expected to rise to 490 Billion Dollars by 2030. Of all the world's expenses Asia spends 60%. Despite of huge amount of budget allocation to diabetes care in different South Asian countries, the prevalence of diabetes is 20 percent. This is very shocking (Ramachandran et al., 2008). It is important here to again mention the world health organization report that predicted that number of patients in developing countries would double in the coming 25 years. And it was also reported that developing countries would have to bear much of the disease spread (Amos et al., 1997). Gestational diabetes is prevalent among pregnant women. It is also a metabolic disease caused by glucose intolerance. Like the other populations of South Asia Pakistani women are at greater risk of gestational diabetes (Wu QK et al., 2005).

 Classification of Diabetes Mellitus

Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus

This is insulin-dependent diabetes and also called juvenile-onset diabetes. Effected fathers are more likely to transfer disease to their offspring than affected mothers. Risks from father and mother to a child are 6-9% and 1-3% respectively (Mehers et al., 2008). Type 1 diabetes is one of the many embryonic diseases, that increased among people after the 1950s, mostly prevalent among children that are less than 5 years old (Gale, 2002). Medical experts are of the view that it will increase to 40% in 2010 (Onkamo et al., 1999). Given the predictions, the effort to control it is minimal at the moment.
